On April 25th, the reState Foundation hosted a virtual conversation between Vitalik Buterin, co-founder and inventor of Ethereum, and Indian mystic Sadhguru, to discuss the intersection of technology and human consciousness. They explored how blockchain and emerging technologies can help groups of people come together and trust each other more. But they also pointed out the growing gap between technological evolution and the progression of human ethical and consciousness development. While emerging technologies can help people recognize complicated identities and connect on common ground, they won’t solve all problems. It’s crucial for humans to be mindful that they are the “highest level of technology” and elevate their consciousness, as it will automatically improve the way we interact with technology. Both speakers emphasized the importance of proper usage of technologies like blockchain to raise human consciousness.
