The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI Bucharest) of Romania is launching an in-house non-fungible token (NFT) trading platform called ICI D|Services on April 26. The platform aims to link private and public sector institutions and users to drive the adoption of Web3-powered technologies in the country. At ICI D|Services, both public and institutional users have the ability to create, handle, and exchange NFTs on a marketplace platform. NFTs have become popular due to their ability to create unique and scarce digital assets applicable across numerous use cases, making them valuable assets for institutions. ICI Bucharest shifted its attention to exploring blockchain, Web3, and NFTs as the space gained traction around the world.
The Romanian government has backed the project, which aims to enhance the country’s economic potential by generating new revenue streams and fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. In partnership with distinguished Romanian athletes, organizations, and institutions, the unveiling of the platform will showcase five exceptional NFT collections.
