Yuga Labs has won a key victory in its lawsuit against Ryder Ripps and Jeremy Cahen, co-founders of the non-fungible token (NFT) project RR/BAYC, which was considered to be a copycat of Yuga Lab’s Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). The US District Court for the Central District of California ruled that Ripps and Cahen had infringed Yuga Lab’s trademarks with their project. In other news, cross-chain augmented reality (AR) game Mandala Metaverse has selected Polkadot parachain Astar Network to host its first major NFT drop, while Square Enix has partnered with Web3 infrastructure company Elixir Games to bring blockchain gaming to a wider audience. Lastly, Tezos India, in collaboration with GoLive Games, has launched a free-to-play multiplayer NFT cricket strategy game named Cricket Stars on the Tezos blockchain.
