Sotheby’s auction house has announced that it will be selling part of the digital art collection acquired by the now-collapsed crypto hedge fund, Three Arrows Capital (3AC). The non-fungible token (NFT) artwork, assembled as part of 3AC’s digital portfolio in 2021, will be auctioned off with sales of seven NFTs from the ‘Grails’ collection in May, including a zombie CryptoPunk and Autoglyphs from Larva Labs, as well as Dmitri Cherniak’s ‘The Golden Goose’ artwork. Three Arrows was a crypto-friendly hedge fund that collapsed during the 2022 market crash.
As part of the liquidation process, advisory firm Teneo announced in February that it planned to sell off 3AC’s digital collection, excluding the firm’s ‘Starry Night Portfolio.’ Sotheby’s digital art team was chosen to conduct the sale.
