The Aave community has overwhelmingly supported a proposal to launch the third version of Aave’s lending protocol on the zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM). The proposal, which was initially suggested on March 26, was limited to USD Coin and Ether. After the “temperature check” was conducted, more than 99% of tokenholders voted in favor of the proposal, with only 0.02% voting against it and a further 0.02% abstaining from voting. The next stages listed in the proposal will involve further discussion, risk parameter evaluation, and finalization before being submitted for voting and on-chain governance approval.
By deploying on zkSync, the Aave ecosystem can introduce new users to decentralized finance and cement its position as a premier borrowing platform within the zero-knowledge ecosystem. In a previous off-chain vote, the Aave community decided to implement the Aave V3 codebase on zkSync’s v2 Testnet, which was subsequently approved in another vote.
