The Bitcoin whitepaper created by Satoshi Nakamoto has been discovered hidden in every modern version of Apple’s Mac operating system for up to five years, according to technologist Andy Baio. In a blog post on April 5, Baio revealed that the whitepaper appeared when he changed the media type from “Photo” to “Document” while scanning a document with a wireless scanner.
A prompt has been developed by Baio that allows for easy access to the whitepaper by using Terminal, a command line interface for macOS. It is unclear why the whitepaper is included in modern versions of macOS, with Baio speculating that it may have been intended for testing purposes.
